Batteries
The whole point behind a personal digital assistant, or a PDA, is to help you work on the go. Because you can sync your PDA up to your office computer, or even your company’s network, you can stay on top of company business, seeing updates to documents, changes in appointments, and so forth, in real time. You can send and receive emails and access the emails on your computer in the office. Naturally, then keeping your PDA up and running is crucial if you’re going to be out of the office, whether you’re on a business trip or leaving early to see your child’s ball game. Obviously, then, PDA batteries are crucial; the battery you have in your PDA means the difference between frustrating at watching your PDA service wither away and the comfort of knowing you’re always on top of your game.
About PDA Batteries
Most of the time, PDA batteries are lithium ion batteries, or LI batteries for short. LI batteries are used in many types of technological and electronic goods; the reason designers use LI ion batteries for PDAs is because they are rechargeable. With an LI battery, you never have to worry about running to the store to pick up new batteries and swap them out; when your battery is getting low, you can simply plug it in and recharge it. Most PDAs batteries are made by the manufacturer of your PDA to suit your particular model, and since you will usually get the best performance from the battery created by the manufacturer who understands how your PDA uses the battery, it is best to stick with these LI batteries. You can sometimes upgrade to a larger battery via the PDA manufacturer; if you do get a larger battery, keep in mind you may need to get a new PDA cover for larger batteries to protect your PDA. Making The Most Of Your Battery The PDA batteries that are installed in most units are completely adequate; it is the way people use them that slow them down and start to make them unreliable. Take good care of your battery to extend its life. Don’t use the batteries simply for convenience. If you’re near an outlet, plug in the PDA to work. If it is not in use, shut it down. Turn off any automatic screen lighting in the daylight hours when you don’t need. A little bit of common sense will go a long way in preserving your battery’s life.
