JandyPS 6
Back in the early days of the computer, Jandy Electronics was right in the thick of things, with their desktop units and even hand held devices they referred to as pocket computers. Produced by Radio Shack and also marketed by Casio under another brand name, the Jandy PS PDA was a nice little unit that actually quite useful for its day. In fact, you still come across people who are using the Jandy PS 6 Jandy PDA after twenty years, simply because it still fills a need. One of the most robust functions of the Jandy PS 6 Jandy handheld PDA is the address book. Due to the layout, it is relatively easy to pull up a blank template and type in all the information you would need on any one person. Searching the address book was equally easy, beginning with a search by the first letter of the last name and then drilling down as far as necessary to get to the right set of information.
The cheap Jandy PS 6 PDA had almost no power at all compared to even the most basic of PDA devices of today. But then, we are talking about a point in time when it would take up the resources of a mainframe to play a ten-second video from today! The discount Jandy PS 6 PDA managed to do the basics of any good organizer, in that it kept up with addresses and other basic information that made life easier for its owners.
Along with the address book, the calendar feature was most helpful. You could set reminders that would let you know when something important was coming up soon. Getting a quick look at the day’s activities was a breeze, and making changes to activities when you needed to reschedule something was not quite as easy as we have it today, but it was certainly no harder than erasing and re-writing an appointment in a hard copy appointment book. The memo pad feature was almost a catchall and would interact with all the different programs loaded onto the PS 6. You could jot down notes, make quick reminders that could later be moved into the calendar and even jot down a grocery list. The PS 6 was also one of the first times that the appearance of password protection came about. Of course, it would take no time for hackers to begin to find all sorts of ways to get into the codes of these pocket computers, but that was still a number of years away at this time. The main thing you had to worry about was someone getting hold of your pocket computer and viewing your data. Of course, the Jandy PDA PS 6 Aluminum cases set the standard for what was to come, with their excellent looks and weatherproof protection of the Jandy PS 6 PDa battery. This early attention to detail still is observed today. A lot of things have changed since those days. But the basic tools that were provided by the PS 6 – an address book, a memo pad, and a calendar – are still integral parts of every PDA device on the market.
