Garmin Ique 3600
Right off the bat, you will notice that the iQue 3600 is meant to be multi-functional. With built-in n GPS Navigation capability and all the features of a PDA thrown in for good measure, you have all you need in one simple device. The union of the two functions also includes some nice extras. As an example, you can utilize the address book in conjunction with the GPS to come up with a map surrounding the address. This can be very handy when you are talking about visiting a customer of your employer for the first time. Both functions have their own clocks, but since they will work off one another whenever the GPS is activated, that means you will always find yourself with the most current time display. As you might expect, this Garmin iQue PDA will be slightly larger than your garden variety PDA. While you may not want to slide it into a shirt pocket, it will still fit fine into a jacket pocket or a purse. One thing to keep in mind is that the larger casing also means a slightly larger viewing screen as well. The Garmin PDA iQue aluminum cases also protect a lot of stuff, including the Garmin iQue PDA battery. Garmin has never cut corners when it came to the casings and it is good to see they are keeping up that practice.
The screen is another great feature of the iQue 3600. The larger screen is obviously helpful when plotting out driving directions and looking up maps. What helps to make that even easier is that the color resolution is at least as strong as what you find with other mid priced PDA devices. Thus, you will have vivid color resolution with the Garminn 3600 iQue PDA that will make it much easier to read any document or work with any map that you may pull up.
There have been some problems reported with the iQue 3600 that appear to require either returning the unit for a processor change or using the soft reset feature on the back of the unit to effectively reboot the unit. There have also been some problems reported with the internal antennae on the Garmin iQue handheld PDA devices not working, while the external antennae was fine, and vice versa. Notifying Garmin usually results in a quick response and you can get on with life. Considering the ambitious nature of combing a fully functional PDA with a fully functional GPS, Garmin has done a pretty good job. When you begin to compare function to function, you will quickly see that no one has done it better thus far. No doubt in future cheap Garmin 3600 iQue PDA enhancements will be made available to address some of the issues that have cropped up, and Garmin can begin to gather more of a market share with their integrated discount Garmin 3600 iQue PDA solution.
